Hardy Bears are born in Wessex, once home to novelist Thomas Hardy, after whom the bears are named.
June Kendall started making her 'artist bears' in 1991 with a visit to the Teddy Bear Museum in Stratford upon Avon. They fell in love with an exquisite little bear she had made and asked her to make more!
Over the years, June has specialised in smaller 3.5"-6" bears and made from finest quality mohair in the same traditional way that the original 'Teddy Bear' was made in the early 1900's.
Not all our artist bears are on the website. There are many more artist bears available for adoption in store. If you can make a visit, we would be more than pleased to introduce you.
