Hermann Teddy Miniatures

Teddy Hermann Bears @ Koko's

Hermann Teddy is the second oldest teddy bear manufacturer in Germany. The birth place of Original Hermann Bears was in Sonneberg, a small town at the border of the Thuringian Forest. It was there that Bernhard Hermann founded his family business in 1912. Together with his three sons and some skilled workers, he manufactured Teddy Bears and plush toys of excellent quality.

Today, Bernhard Hermann's granddaughters continue the family tradition of classic bear-making, and his motto to bring joy and happiness into a child's life is as vivid now as it has always been.

Talented designers include Traudel Mischner-Hermann, Christine Steinbrenner, Andrea Rath, Sally Lambert, Katrin Müller, Gisela Kaczmarczyk, Anna Dazumal, S. Schramm, Karin Schüler, B. Schleusener and U. Schwarz.

Teddy Hermann Logo Text

Every year Teddy-Hermann in Hirschaid, Germany, design new bear personalities which find their places in the hearts of many collectors around the globe. These bears build bridges between generations and continents. New ideas and traditional craftsmanship turn precious materials into collectors’ bears which are stuffed by hand, embroidered and trimmed with great skill.

All bears of the Hermann Teddy Original collection wear the red "Teddy" seal, a much treasured label among collectors all over the world.

Most of these bears are produced in limited editions and are very sought after. They are made from some of the old patterns and, as in the early years, stuffed and stitched by hand and disc jointed.

Tom Thumb

The Tom Thumb range of bears from Hermann were first launched in their 2002 catalogue. Due to their popularity, they have continued to introduce new characters each year since. These traditionally hand-made, loosely jointed, pellet filled little creations are all able to suck their right thumb and have an adorable sleepy look. Each is produced in a limited edition. The unusual baby-style characters have certainly grabbed the attention of our bear collectors!

Miniatures

Due to their size, (just 4 to 14cm), these can only be made using a magnifying glass! They are meticulously designed in every detail, fully jointed and find a special place in the hearts of true bear lovers. Imagination knows no limits and there is always room for these tiny teddy bears.
